LANDSCAPE SECTION: BORDER: U.S./CANADA (2008)
Wood, plywood, foam, plastic, paint, branches, dirt, and other natural materials.
4′ × 8′ × 0.5′
The Border: U.S./Canada sculpture is based upon field research conducted by Blane De St. Croix along numerous border crossings, as well as press photo documentation. The sculpture depicts a peace park on the border between the United States and Canada. This northern border is less contentious in United States’ politics, providing a sharp contrast to the more fortified southern border with Mexico.
Drawings in support of the project and its research can be viewed in the “paper” section.
