U.S./MEXICO BORDER (2009)

Ink on paper.
24″ × 19″ and 17″ × 14″

The U.S./Mexico border drawing series draw upon Blane De St. Croix’s field research along the length of the Mexico/United States border. This involved over 3,000 miles of travel along both the old fence and the new federal fence under construction. De St. Croix visited 15 border crossings and spoke with individuals on both sides of the border (both geographically and ideologically speaking), including civilian residents, fence contractors, U.S. border patrol, and journalists.
