ARCTIC INK DRAWINGS (2020)

The Arctic drawing series is based upon Blane De St. Croix’s travels to the high Arctic. Research for the project incorporated travel to Arctic’s Svalbard Archipelago. The expedition vessel, an ice-breaking tall ship, departed from Svalbard, Norway, and sailed just ten degrees from the North Pole. While in the Arctic waters, the numerous glacier landings and other conducted on-site research and pursue creative activities. Extensive documentation was undertaken through this on the ground field research, as well as aerial surveys.
